DeviceRadio was founded in 2016 by Christian Klemetsson, who was disappointed with the IoT solutions on the market when he wanted to monitor his houseplants. Christian created his own radio protocol specifically for IoT, with key features such as encryption and plug and play.

Winning $10,000 in components in a Silicon Labs/Digi-Key competition and receiving positive feedback and media attention, Christian started DeviceRadio with the intention to solve the problems he found in IoT development.

Since then DeviceRadio has gone through the Eon :Agile accelerator program and received numerous awards and accolades, most recently winning the Swedish Embedded Award 2017.

The United Nations have defined Sustainable Development as “development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs”.

We at DeviceRadio believe that technology -IoT specifically- is essential to using world resources more efficiently and achieving the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

For that to happen we need to make the technology accessible to more companies and to shift focus from IoT solving luxury problems to problems that impact the world.

DeviceRadio’s goal is to lower the technical threshold for IoT development and empower others change the world with future proof solutions.
